When people hear about weddings in Vegas, their first thought is usually one of the many movies of television shows where a guy has a little bit too much to drink, and wakes up married to someone he has never met before. While Vegas is certainly the top choice for eloping couples, or spur of the moment marriages, it can be an excellent destination wedding for anyone looking to break away from the conventional wedding formula.

A traditional wedding and reception can easily cost $10,000-$25,000, or more. This does not even factor in the emotional cost that the stress of planning a wedding can have on you and your fiancé. While this will be a day you and your significant other will remember for the rest of your life, it will not be much different than the 2 or 3 other weddings that your guests attend this year, even though you broke the bank to pay for it. Why not break the mold and have a unique wedding that people will be talking about for years to come?

Weddings in Vegas are Cheap, Fun, and Easy

The best part about a Las Vegas wedding is that there are so many options. For $40 you can go through a marriage drive through, or you can rent out a large chapel for a more traditional style ceremony. You can get married by a minister, by Elvis, or even a cowboy. It can be an intimate ceremony with just you and your partner, or you can invite hundreds of people. Weddings in Vegas are designed so that you can have the wedding you always dreamed of, especially if that dream is anything but traditional.

The best part about this while experience is that it is cheap, fun, and easy. The average Las Vegas wedding only costs about $350. If a traditional wedding would normally cost $20,000, you could take that extra $19,650 and put it in as a down payment for your dream home. The great part about Vegas is that you can set your price when it comes to a wedding. If you still want to spend that $20,000 you can do so easily, and you can be sure that money will make for a much more memorable ceremony than it would at home.

Requirements for a Las Vegas Wedding

It is easier to get married in Las Vegas than nearly anywhere else in the world. In order to get a marriage license you must visit the Marriage License Bureau, which is conveniently open 7 days a week 8:00am to midnight on weekdays, and 24 hours from Friday to Sunday. There is no waiting period, and no blood test required. All you must do is show proof of age, and pay the $55 fee.

The only other requirement to get married in Las Vegas is that there be a witness other than the minister present during the ceremony. Any wedding package will include a witness if necessary.

Las Vegas: The Perfect Wedding Destination for Out of the Box Thinkers

There is certainly something special about getting married in your home town in the church you grew up attending, with all of your friends and family present. However, this traditional style wedding is not for everybody. If you are looking for an inexpensive, fun, and stress free marriage ceremony, then Las Vegas is the place for you.
